Snowmobiling

We went snowmobiling near our place on Monday afternoon. This is John seeing how fast the machine would go.

Some of us were taking time out and sitting on hay bales like ducks in a row.

Joe brought his toboggan and we all took a ride.

Powder Skiing

We got to ski another day since the pass was closed and the people staying in Pagosa could not get to the ski resort. Usually there are about 5,000 skiiers here and we had the mountain to ourselves!

John did a great job skiing in the powder snow.

Perfect Ski Day at Wolf Creek

Winter fun in Colorado??

After we got back to Colorado, it snowed for 3 days. John did not think much of our "paradise".







Friday morning there were blue skies and a good day to ski. We got down to the highway and they were not letting traffic through. We waited for about 30 minutes and they let the skiiers go as far the the ski resort. The pass was still closed to Pagosa Springs due to the heavy snowfall.





I took several photos of John on his snowboard, it all came back to him very quickly. Notice the grey snowy sky!! The snow couldn't have been any better, but visiblity was not so good.

After 12 runs he was ready to quit for the day, so was I!

Thiesfeld/Riley Christmas Celebration

Since we were not going to be in Houston for Christmas, we decided to celebrate early. Here is AJ giving Papa a present.

Visiting AJ in Houston

We went to Houston for AJ's 1st birthday.

Mommy made a very good cake!AJ received a lot of gifts for his birthday.

Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

Thousands ran/walked in this annual event.

John finished the 10K in about 55 minutes.

Michelle ran the 5K in 39 minutes.

Way to go!! Now they can enjoy a turkey dinner.

Lloyd and I were part of the cheering section.

Chuck's visit to our place.

Lloyd's brother Chuck is from Minneapolis, and he came out to visit us for the weekend. He left Monday afternoon for Denver to attend business meetings. While here the guys put in our new kitchen door. Chuck was a big help and the motivator to get Lloyd to complete this project. He was pretty impressed with Lloyd's new cordless saw.

After ptting the silicone sealer down, we could not step on the threshold. Chuck put the blue tape down so we would not accidently step on it. The blue tape came off several times as we tripped over it.

There was plenty of goofing off.

It was a calm evening, so we decided to have a campfire and eat dinner outside.

UTAH - Salt Lake City

Today Lloyd had his photo taken in front of his 19th state capital building.

After the photo we went inside and had a tour of the building. It was renovated 4 years ago and made earthquake proof as well as uncovering a lot of original architecture. We drove by Temple Square after we left the capital.
The city is about 10 miles east of the Great Salt Lake, and since I had never seen it we drove out to a view point along I 80. The land mass is Antelope Island.

The lake is so large that you can not see land on the other side of it.

On the way home Lloyd's motorcycle turned over 100,000 miles so we stopped to get a photo of it. We were just exiting I 15 and going onto Highway 50 in the town of Scipia, Utah when it happened. I'm glad it didn't turn over while on interstate 15!
